Brenda Carrillo

Job title:
Latinx Success Fellow
Bio/CV:

About Brenda: Hello everyone! My name is  Brenda Carrillo.(they/her/ella). I’m a transfer student going into my senior year as an Ethnic Studies major.  I was born in Mexico City, but pretty much grew up in the Bay Area. I am someone who is passionate about helping others, and I am excited to get a chance to support Latinx students here at Cal!  As a first gen, re-entry, and DSP student, I know how hard and isolating getting through higher education is, and I hope to be able to help folks find a sense of community and belonging to help not only survive college but thrive! I believe in the power of community healing, and I am excited to see what the year has in store for all of us.

Education: A.A Liberal Arts, De Anza College.

B.A. Ethnic Studies, Berkeley (Exp. Fall  2024)

Fun fact: I love to spend time shooting film in random places. My dream home would have a dark room/art studio where I could spend my free time creating and developing.  I like to sing, dance around, and spend time outdoors, but I also really love just hanging out and watching movies with my pets.
