Why are you a EOP STEM Coordinator?

I didn't want students to experience the same difficulties I experienced throughout my first years at Cal in the STEM fields due to imposters syndrome, or not relating to students/professors. I desire to witness the success of low-income, 1st generation, historically underrepresented, and/or undocumented students in STEM.

A little bit about yourself:

I was born in El Salvador and immigrated to the US when I was 2 years old. I have a younger sister who is my partner in crime and I am absolutely a Mamas boy.

Interesting Fact:

The reason we immigrated to the US was because I was born with a kidney and a half (people normally have 2 kidneys) and the half was fused with the full. Salvadorian doctors didn't have the technology to diagnose me, thus, US doctors had to figure out my anomaly. Interesting RIGHT!
